Last weekend I was at the annual conference of the National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE) in Stratford-on-Avon. It’s my first time as a speaker there, and I hosted a slot about Becoming a Writer-in-Residence.

At a classy awards ceremony on Thursday night, I was thrilled when it was announced that The Print Museum had won the 2016 East Anglian Book Award for Poetry.

Reading at Wymondham Words 2nd November
I’m lucky to have an inspiring literary festival on my doorstep in Wymondham. For a smallish market town, it packs quite a cultural punch. Wymondham was even featured as the place to move to in the Guardian because of its heritage, friendly community and artistic events.

It’s been fascinating to be involved with new commissions for writing workshops and poems as part of the 14-18 NOW, Norfolk & Norwich Festival, and Writers’ Centre remembrance of the Battle of the Somme, July – November 1916.

Reading at the Kings Lynn Poetry Festival Friday 30 Sept
I’m looking forward to reading at this year’s Kings Lynn Poetry Festival, especially as Kings Lynn was my old stomping ground as a teenager. We used to regularly bus in from Swaffham to go to the market or the Mart. The Mart started on February 14th, so was a great place to go with a date. Kings Lynn was a favourite for Christmas shopping too, and hot roast chestnuts were a must.

Science, Art and Writing workshops
Yesterday I was at West Earlham Junior School as the writer in a SAW Trust Science, Art and Writing day school.
