Norwich Book Benches

It’s wonderful that my second Bloodaxe collection, ‘The Print Museum’, has been included in one of the beautiful new stone ‘Book Benches’ around Norwich. The new trail promotes stories and authors with Norwich connections. I’m on the same bench as some of my literary heroes – Ali Smith, Hilary Mantel, Kazuo Ishiguro and Philip Pullman.

There are eight benches in all. One is resting on its spine, with open pages to sit on. One is made of metal in eight colours, each representing a district of Norwich. A couple are piles of books. A few, like ‘mine’, are books waiting to be chosen from a shelf.

To see them all as part of a trail takes around 1 hour 15 minutes and is fully accessible.

You can find out more about all the fantastic local authors and stories included here: https://www.visitnorwich.co.uk/article/introducing-the-norwich-book-benches/
