New poem in Poetry, US

Poetry is a journal I’ve admired for many years, so it was a dream come true to have a poem selected for their May issue.

I love the ethos of sharing poetry they advocate too. So the poems are published on their website for all to read.

Founded in Chicago by Harriet Monroe in 1912, Poetry is ‘the oldest monthly journal devoted to verse in the English-speaking world.’

Harriet Monroe’s “Open Door” policy for the journal was ‘to print the best poetry written today, in whatever style, genre, or approach.’

In recent years, nearly half of the poets published in Poetry have been first-time contributors.
