I’m really please to have two new poems published in the lovely Lampeter Review – the magazine of the Lampeter Creative Writing Centre (part of the University of Wales, Trinity St David). I’m in excellent company – you can see poems from the current issue here.
It was also a wonderful surprise to have my poem ‘A language learned abroad’ chosen by Live Canon for their 2018 Poetry Competition.
The unique thing about Live Canon’s competition is that they read every poem aloud as part of the judging process – they are interested in poems that work on and off the page.
All the shortlisted poems will be read out by actors at the Greenwich Theatre in a celebration ceremony Sunday 23rd September. It will be fascinating to hear how mine comes across, and I’ll enjoy hearing the others very much too.
All 5o long and short-listed poems are collected in an anthology. There are lots of great-sounding poems and fantastic poets chosen. I can’t wait to see a copy and read the poems.
